The problem
The customer had a newly built room that was still at the bare plasterboard stage. The boards were fixed but every joint, screw head and corner was visible, and the room needed finishing before it could be painted and used.

Plasterboarding and skimming a new room in Sutton
A newly built room in Sutton fully plasterboarded and skimmed: walls and ceiling taped, beaded and finished to a smooth, paint-ready surface.
Preparation
Floors were protected and the boards were checked over for any proud screws or damaged edges. All joints were scrim-taped, external corners received angle beads, and the window and door reveals were squared off ready for skimming.
The work carried out
Once the preparation was complete, the walls and ceiling were given two coats of multi-finish plaster, laid on and trowelled off flat. The reveals, corners and ceiling line were all finished crisp and true, and the spot-light cut-outs were left clean and sharp.
The result
The room was left with smooth, even walls and a flat ceiling throughout — ready for mist coating and decorating as soon as the plaster had dried. Another Sutton job finished clean, on time and to a high standard.
