Blown plaster repair in Sutton's older solid walls
In the Victorian and Edwardian terraces around the station and Benhill, the most common repair is blown plaster: the original coat has lost its grip on the brickwork and sounds hollow when tapped. Filling the crack on the surface does nothing; the loose area has to be cut back to sound material and rebuilt.
We tap out the wall first to find the full extent of the hollow area, so the quote covers the real repair rather than just the visible crack.
